Me & Parvati - Slapp Happy (1974)
Track two from the best album of the seventies. Yeah, I said it.

Surabaya Johnny - Dagmar Krause (1985)
This comes from a Hal Wilner compilation of Kurt Weill’s music called Lost In The Stars, featuring recordings by Tom Waits, Van Dyke Parks, Marianne Faithfull, Lou Reed, Sting, and many more folks.
But this recording by Krause is the best of the lot. She has a voice tailor-made for any tragic Weill/Brecht character.
This song is from Happy End, Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s follow-up to The Threepenny Opera.
